Mystics top Mounties

Maria Carroll led all scorers with 27 points today as the host Mystics beat the visiting Mounties from Mount Allison 73-46. 

The Mystics used their smothering defence to cause the Mounties to turn the ball over 30 times leading to 35 points in transition for the home team. A strong second quarter which provided the Mystics with a 16 point halftime lead was never relinquished in the second half as the Mystics pressured the Mounties throughout te third and fouth quarters added to 7 é19 from the three point line and the Mystics cruised to the final buzzer to come out victorius in their season home opener. 

For the Mystics Carroll scored 27 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Nikki Arsenault added 12 points 10 steals, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Kelsey crocker added 12 points and Tahlia Jones had 7 points and 6 rebounds, 5 on the offensive end. 

For the Mounties Jill Harris had 13 points and 3 steals, Keirsten Mangold added 7 point sna 8 rebounds, and off the bench Cole Smolinski and Abbey Miller both scored 7. 

Next up for both teams is the Tommies from St.Thomas. They will host the Mystics on Nov 3rd for their home opener and then the Mounties will hold their hme opener as they host the Tommies on Nov 4th.
