The UNB Saint John Seawolves and Holland College Hurricanes met in ACAA women's basketball.
The Seawolves jumped out to a 19-14 lead after the first quarter and increased the lead to 39-22 at half time. The Seawolves continued to play inspired basketball in the second half and held off the Hurricanes to post a stunning 71-52 win.
The Seawolves were led by Jillian McNally's 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 steals. Hanna Grossman also came up big for the Seawolves with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Kathryn Magee added 14 points.
Jayla Verney led the Hurricanes with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Jenna MacInnis added 13 points and 5 rebounds and Tyleigha Nelson had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals.
The Seawolves improved to 3-14 which leaves them in sixth place while the Hurricanes dropped to 11-6 and hold down third spot.
The Seawolves host Mount Allison University Wednesday, February 21 at 6:00 PM while the Hurricanes host St. Thomas University February 24 at 2:00 PM
