CHARLOTTETOWN - The Holland Hurricanes extended their winning streak to ten games as they downed the Mount Allison Mounties 103-81 at the Centre for Community Engagement.
In front of a loud contigent of Hurricanes supporters, the home side jumped out to a 32-13 first-quarter lead, before extending teir lead to 58-27 at the half.
Both teams left their defensive pressure behind in the second half, as the Hurricanes led 84-50.
The perfect 10-0 Hurricanes are two games clear of the second-place MSVU Mystics, while the Mounties fall to 6-4 and fourth place in the ACAA with the loss.
Travis Adams's explosive effort led the Hurricanes, as he picked up a double-double with 20pts, 11reb and 6stl. Jace Colley had a game-high 24 points, and Martin Campbell added 20 points in 23 minutes of play.
For the Mounties, Mack Chisholm provided 17pts, 4reb, 3ast.
The Mounties will travel to Fredericton to face the STU Tommies Friday night. The Hurricanes will catch the Tommies on the second night of a back-to-back Saturday night as they look to extend their winning streak to 11 games.
