The UNB Saint John Seawolves and Holland College Hurricanes met in ACAA men's basketball.
The Seawolves started well and were down 27-22 in the first quarter against the 2nd ranked team in the CCAA. The Hurricanes struck for 33 points in the second quarter to bust the game open. The Seawolves responded with a good second half but the Hurricanes were too much to handle and they prevailed 108-91.
The Hurricanes presented a balanced attack that saw seven players with 13 points or better. Jace Colley led the way with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Jordan Holness had 17 points and. Connor Therrien finished with 16 points for the winners who improved to a perfect 9-0 this season. The Hurricanes host Mount Allison University Sunday at 4:00pm.
The Seawolves received a big game from Steve Ryan who scored 21 points. Hunter Gray added 19 points and 5 rebounds and Jacob Vickers needed with 17 points and 6 rebounds. The Seawolves dropped to 3-6 for the season but remain in sixth place. They will look to get back on track against MSVU Sunday at 3:00pm.
