The UNB Saint John Seawolves hosted the St. Thomas Tommies in ACAA men's basketball Sunday at the G.Forbes Elliot Centre.
The Seawolves were glad to get back to the familiar home court and jumped out to a 27-14 first quarter lead and never looked back as they beat the Tommies to get their first win of the young season. Sam Anstey scored 18 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to pace the Seawolves attack. Matthew Brown added 16 points and Tanner Hoyt followed with 15 points for the winners.
Admin Dervisevic had a good day for the Tommies with 18 points. Michael Otoo had 16 points and Geoffrey Lavoisier pitched in with 7 rebounds.
The Seawolves improved to 1-4 while the Tommies fell to 0-5. Future games see the Tommies hosting UKC Blue Devils Saturday, November 24 at 3:00pm The Seawolves host the Blue Devils Sunday, November 25 at 2:00pm.
