UNB Saint John Hosts ACAA Volleyball Championship

On behalf of the University of New Brunswick Saint John, the Athletics, Recreation & Wellness Department would like to extend a warm welcome to the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association’s men’s and women’s volleyball teams competing in the 2010 Championships. The excitement of collegiate volleyball will take place at the G. Forbes Elliot Athletic Centre on the UNB Saint John Campus on February 27^th & 28^th. We trust this tournament will provide competitive games for participants and spectators alike.

Tournament Schedule:

Saturday, February 27

12:30 pm Women’s Semi-Final Match #1

University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves (1st) vs St. Thomas Tommies (4th)

Result: UNBSJ defeated STU 3-2 (27-25, 19-25, 29-27, 26-24, 19-17)

Boston Pizza Players of the Match: Nadine Savoie (UNBSJ), Danielle Blinn (STU)

2:30 pm Women's Semi-Final Match #2

Mount Allison Mounties (2nd) vs Mount Saint Vincent Mystics (3rd)

Result: MSVU defeated MTA 3-0 (27-25, 25-15, 25-16)

Boston Pizza Players of the Match: Jamie Brown (MSVU), Allison Settle (MTA)

5:30 pm Men's Semi-Final Match #1

University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves (1st) vs University of Kings College Blue Devils (4th)

Result: UNBSJ defeated UKC 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-18)

Boston Pizza Player of the Match: Chika Ikejiani (UNBSJ), Colin Gaudet (UKC)

7:30 pm Men's Semi-Final Match #2

Holland College Hurricanes (2nd) vs St. Thomas Tommies (3rd)

Result: HC defeated STU 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-20)

Sunday, February 28

1:00 pm Women’s Championship Final

Mount Saint Vincent Mystics vs University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves

Result: MSVU defeated UNBSJ 3-1 (25-13, 19-25, 25-16, 25-19)

3:30 pm Men’s Championship Final
