MTA wins ACAA Women's Volleyball Championship Title

MTA defeated STU 25-27, 25-19,25-16, 25-23

Mount Allison University's Women's Volleyball team showed great
composure , depth and experience as they upset the the number 1 ranked
Saint Thomas Tommies. The Tommies battled hard but it was not their day.
ACAA Rookie of the Year Caila Henderson from MYTA had  an outstanding
game with 17 kills, 19 defensive digs and seniors Laurel Carleton had 12
kills and Sarah macdonald had 10 kills. MTA's Setter Lori Joyce used her
hitters and libero lauren Hatch had some key digs.

Saint Thomas Tommies Ashley Jordan had 13 kills and veteran Tara
Thibault  had 10 kills. Libero Nicole benson had 18 digs and was a
defensive stand out.

Mount Allison University will represent the ACAA at the CCAA Women
Volleyball Nationals in Nippising University in Noth Bay Ont on March
13-15, 2009.
